Mid month all Lakengren organizations, clubs, and committees are notified of the Viking deadline which is always the third Friday of the month. Jerry Spaeth and Janet Davis attend activities to photograph and capture news of Lakengren events. Minutes, reports, and timely events are recorded and sent electronically to the publisher, John Keefe. He combines the text with the advertising submitted by Twin Valley Publications. A first draft is returned within four to five days to be edited. All revenue from the advertising pays for the printing of the paper. Corrections and possible changes are made and the completed Viking is returned electronically to the publisher to be forwarded to the printer.
Approximately 2,000 copies are printed the last week of the month and then delivered to the LPOA office. The papers are then counted, packaged and labeled for a bulk mailing by Janet and Jerry. The bulk mailing is then hand delivered to the post office by the LPOA office staff. The process then begins again for the next month's news.
